Styling Wavy Hair Extensions

1. Wash & Detangle in the Shower

Use an approved shampoo and conditioner. While the conditioner is on, detangle using a wet brush or wide-tooth comb.

2. Style From Wet

After rinsing, apply a leave-in conditioner (from the approved list) and allow the hair to air dry or diffuse to dry (see diffusing tips below).

3. For More Defined Waves

Apply products in this order while hair is wet:

Leave-in conditioner
Curl cream
Oligo Blacklight Volume Mousse
Scrunch the hair between each product. Let air dry fully or diffuse, then scrunch out the crunch for soft, defined waves.

4. Between Washes

When brushing the wavy hair dry, use a wet brush for a soft, fluffy straight look.
For a more defined wave between washes, use a wide-tooth comb instead.

Troubleshooting Tip:

If your natural hair is curlier than the wavy extensions but not curly enough to match the curly texture, try using a heavier leave-in conditioner after washing. This will help weigh down your curls for a smoother blend.

Trimming:

After installing curly or wavy hair, trimming the ends is necessary. Our hair is 30% double drawn to replicate the natural density of curly and wavy hair and is steam permed to create the texture. Because of this, a few inches will typically need to be cut post-installation. Please consider the desired final length and allow for trimming when placing your order.

Styling Curly Hair Extensions

1. Wash & Detangle Gently

Use an approved shampoo and conditioner. While the conditioner is on, detangle with a wet brush or wide-tooth comb. Natural Curly hair and extensions will tangle more easily—especially since we do not brush between washes—so be extra gentle while detangling in the shower.

2. Style From Wet (Crucial)

Immediately after washing:

Apply a heavy leave-in conditioner for coarse curls or a lighter one for finer curls
Scrunch
Follow with curl cream, then scrunch again
Finish with Oligo Blacklight Volume Mousse, and scrunch once more

Important: Focus more product on your natural hair, not the extensions.
Avoid fluffing out your hair. Our goal is to flatten your curls to blend in with the extensions.

Pro Tip: you can use a wide tooth comb to fluff out your extensions. Our goal is always to blend the two textures. So if the clients hair is more poofy- use a heavy leave in to weigh it down while using a wide tooth comb to fluff up extensions.

3. Air Dry or Diffuse

Let hair air dry and do not touch until 100% dry, or see diffusing tips below. Once fully dry, scrunch the crunch to soften the cast.

Trimming:

Diffusing Curly Hair Extensions Tips

1. After applying your styling products, hover the diffuser on low to medium heat over your hair. Do not touch the hair during this step.

2. Continue until a cast forms (usually around 15 minutes).

3. Once the cast has set, gently scrunch diffuse from side to side using medium-low heat.

4. When the hair is 80% dry, you can scrunch diffuse a little more aggressively until fully dry for extra volume and bounce.
